How does Tinder, the popular dating app, work?

Tinder is the most popular dating app for kids, but how do you register and how does it work? That’s all you need to know.

You’ve been single for too long and you have to meet someone? Your friends have probably already advised you to register on a dating site, but it is not easy to cross the cap. And which site to choose? Of all the dating apps out there, the best known is by far Tinder.

But what is Tinder?

This is a free dating app that was launched in 2012 by four Americans inspired by the dating app for gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgenders, Grindr. Tinder works both on Android (you can download it here) than on iOS (you can download it here), on smartphone than on PC. The connection is either via your Facebook account, or by entering your phone number which can also serve as a login.

Swipe left or Swipe right

Once connected, you must complete your profile by indicating your name, your sex and your age, by downloading photos where you are to your advantage and by filling your bio. The next step is to set your search criteria to filter users on the social network based on your preferences. You can adjust age, distance (in kilometers from you) and sex (if you are looking for a heterosexual or homosexual relationship).

Then, it’s time to start! The app will scroll you through user profiles that meet your criteria. Three choices are available to you: “swipe left” (sweeps the screen to the left if you are not interested in the person), “swipe right” (sweeps the screen to the right if you are interested by the person, which amounts to a “like”) or “super like” (click on the blue star in the center in case of love at first sight).

Tinder for PC

Since 2018 Tinder launched a web version of it’s popular dating app called Tinder online, it’s the same as Tinder mobile but works for PC and Mac . The interface is simple and worls like the app, you login with Facebook account and start swiping with your mouse.

How to get a match?

If the other person has “liked” you too, you will immediately receive the famous “It’s a Match!” Message. This “Match” will allow you to be put in touch with this person and you will be able to send you messages via a chat. The catchphrase is not the most obvious, but you have to take risks to find love.

Good luck with your research!
